On November 12th, 2020 our beloved friend and colleague Christian Freksa has passed away. We are unbelievably sad and in deep grief. Christian was a wonderful person, a great colleague and a brilliant mentor. His family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Christian was the director of the Bremen Spatial Cognition Center and a professor of Cognitive Systems at the University of Bremen.
Christian received a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from UC Berkeley. He carried out research at the Max Planck Institute and at the Technical University of Munich, at the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley, and at the University of Hamburg. In 2002 he initiated the International Spatial Cognition Quality Network and the Spatial Cognition Research Center in Bremen and Freiburg that he directed since 2003.
We are deeply shocked by this sudden loss.
